What a difference a day makes!

Sunday afternoon, after choir practice, our car thermometer read 52 deg. and I talked everyone into a walk around the block when I got home. We only needed light jackets or long sleeves, and it was beautiful out! The flavor of spring was everywhere. I looked all over the front yard when we got home for tender spring bulb sprouts. You know what? I couldn't find one!! They must have known this was coming!

You can see from my pic that I gave up shoveling after getting halfway through the driveway. I'd already driven over it twice to get Sharra from school, what was the point? I did make a path through the sidewalk to the front door and then out to the street so we could collect the mail and unfortunate souls who may have to trek to our door would not have to traverse the Snow Plow Mountain. The snow didn't stop until sometime after I went to bed last night at 11pm. CRAZY!!

It was fun to have a chance to play in it with the kids again though. Aviendha got her first experience with it on her own. She hated her boots, gloves and hat. In these pics you can see that she removed gloves and hat right after getting outside. Sharra made a cave for her litle Capt. HuggyFace. Sam made several "nests" for himself around the yard--he was continually intrigued that he could sit "so deep" in the snow. Ginny was my little shoveling helper around the sidewalks. She even got out their plastic lawnmower out to help me "mow the snow away". And where was my snowblower, you ask? In the shed!! Adam put it there Friday afternoon and I was NOT going to shovel a path through the back yard just to get it out. -sigh- I know he was only excited for the spring-like weather, but if we get anymore storms like this, he's in charge of ALL snow-removal.

It's here and set up!

The new computer arrived yesterday and Adam set it up for me this morning!!!! Now I get to have the fun task of transferring things off the old one that I still need. Within a week, it should all be good.

So I'm really trying not to let spring fever set in. This nice weather is not supposed to last--and it's a blessing really. I still have several indoor projects I would like to conquer before the outdoors siren call wins me over. I only have one wall to retouch in the guest room downstairs and then I can caulk all the trim in there. Hang some curtains/blinds, and that room's finished! Woo, hoo!

When Adam's brother was living with us last year he pulled the towel rack in the downstairs bathroom off the wall (long, unpleasant story). Well, Adam just got that fixed this past weekend--yeah, I know, we're not that on top of things. That said, I have a bit of paint touch up in there as well. Then the door needs to be painted and the trim caulked. But I am way excited to have the counter top in there completed and it looks AWESOME!

Then, somewhere in the middle of everything else, I've decided to make the girls' Easter dresses this year. I've got the patterns cut out and now the part I like least, cutting out the material. If I can make myself do that part, then I'll be more motivated to get the sewing done--that's the fun part! Esp., since I chose really easy patterns. Wish me luck--Easter's April 12th!

And I think I've finally come up with a system that will control video game time around here. I've still got some tweaking to do--I'll get back on that later.
